Burial Hordes
Extinction (EP)
Folter Records
May 30th, 2016
It’s been two years since the release of the Incendium, Burial Hordes’ third full-length album and I’m still trying to come to terms with the originality and freshness of this record. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a massive death metal fan for almost two decades now and believe me I’ve heard lot of death metal metal records in my life. I know that many would say they’ve heard it before, it’s all been done in this genre of music. Bands keep stealing riffs of each other and lack in originality, blah blah blah.
But I’m telling you, Burial Hordes know how to put an exciting spin on old school death metal sounding. It’s important to mention is that they’re from Greece where old school death metal is blooming at the moment and it has been for years. The new EP, Extinction was released digitally back in May this year via independent resources but it’s it now to be available through Folter Records. It’s a four song, just over nineteen minute fast and furious production. They don’t take any hostages. Extinction is a war machine which is marching on with unimaginable hatred. The demise of the human race is upon us. There is no turning back, the madness of Burial Hordes fury will set the wold on fire, like they sing in the second track, The World Ablaze. I’m already looking forward to see what they do next. This EP is a essential purchase for any death metal fan!
