The Curling Flame Of Blasphemy is definitely one of the most blasphemous albums you are going to hear this year. Not sure if you know the history of the band but the founder of the band, Paul Ledney, was also one of the founders of the mighty Incantation. He also played a similar role in the Incantation’s beginnings, taking care of drums and doing vocals at same time. Quite impressive, isn’t it?! In the very early 90’s, Paul decided to quit his old band and wanted to focus on playing pure blasphemous black metal. I can only thank the dark forces of evil for that because we wouldn’t have 26 years of outstanding anti-Christian music produced by the Profanatica.
The opening song, Ordained in Bile hits you straight in the face. Hellish riffs and blasting drums mixed with dark and desecrating vocals fills your brain with a pleasing rotten thoughts. The grave has been open. Next up is probably one of my favourite songs from the record, March to Golgotha a proper but only two minutes long desecration. The riff at the beginning of the track is something that will stay with you for a long time. Catchy like fire on a freshly dead body. I can easily spend time commenting on every song from this record. It’s pointless, because it’s a perfect, fully dedicated to the obscure black metal album. Over the years, Profanatica managed to create a unique sound and atmosphere for themselves. Songs like, Yahweh Rejected, Black Hymna or Bleed Heavenly Kingdom will take to magical places where Jesus is not allowed. The Curling Flame Of Blasphemy was released by Hell Headbangers Records a couple of months ago, go and get it. Fill your soul with unholiness!
